Data from four periods of the China Household Finance Survey(CHFS)from 2013-2019 are selected to empirically ana-lyse the impact of household health shocks on commercial insurance using Logit and Ols models,and focus on the mech-anism of the role of risk attitudes and the conditions of realisation in it.The results show that exposure to health shocks will significantly promote the consumption of commercial insurance,the greater the degree of exposure to health shocks,the greater the expenditure on commercial insurance,and risk attitude plays a significant mediating effect in the relation-ship.Heterogeneity analyses show that households with different incomes,regions,and hukou have different attitudes to-wards commercial insurance after suffering a health shock,with a greater impact on low-income levels,eastern regions,and urban households.
