Based on SOR theory,with tourists'psychological types as moderating variables,this paper ex-plored the effects of two types of negative events in tourist destinations on potential tourists'travel intentions.The results show that both ability and moral negative events significantly affect the potential tourists'cognitive and emotional image for the tourism destination.Ability-based negative events negatively affect the travel in-tention of potential tourists through the complete mediation effect of tourism destination image,while moral-based negative events negatively affect the travel intention of potential tourists through partial mediation effect and direct path;In the negative events of destination capacity,the psychological type of tourists moderates the impact of negative events on the travel intention of potential tourists,while in the negative events of moral type,this moderating effect is not significant.It is proposed that tourism destinations should pay attention to the emo-tional connection with tourists when resolving negative events,and should conform to social norms and moral standards.
