摘要This paper uses the social network analysis method to analyze the network structure of English-related learning communities on Weibo platform, and analyzes the reasons for its formation under different network and participant backgrounds. By using the complex system research software Gephi to analyze the social network of the data and the degree centrality of the key nodes, this paper finds that all kinds of online English learning networks are sparse, and when the network is small, it will have a positive impact on individual English learning in the community. Highly centralized network members play a leading role, and most of these users have user names similar to community keywords. Based on the analysis of social media English learning, this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the effectiveness of online English teaching from the perspective of network science. © 2022 IEEE.
