摘要 | 本文基于19个城市群中的211个地级市的面板数据,考察了城市群网络空间结构与城市创新绩效的关系及作用机制。研究发现:(1)城市群网络空间结构对城市创新绩效有明显的促进作用。这一结论得到了工具变量和系统GMM等稳健性检验的进一步证实。这意味着,城市群内部的网络联系和协调发展是促进城市创新的关键因素之一;(2)城市群网络空间结构对城市创新绩效的影响趋势呈现“U”型非线性,即城市群网络空间结构对城市创新绩效的促进作用先减少后增加。但是,仅有少数中西部城市群处于“U”型拐点左侧。这意味着,在我国绝大多数城市群中,不论是大城市、中城市还是小城市,都能够有效地融入网络体系,从而促进城市创新绩效的提升;(3)异质性分析表明,城市群竞争力越强、成熟度更高的城市更容易从城市群网络空间结构的增长红利中受益。然而,对于相对落后的城市和城市群而言,其功能网络外部性作用较弱。这表明,在推动城市群内部经济联系和协调发展时,需要更加注重落后城市和城市群的发展;(4)城市群集聚外部性、功能网络外部性以及产业结构转型升级是城市群网络空间赋能城市创新绩效的主要机制和路径。这意味着,城市群内部的各类经济要素之间的互动和协同作用,以及产业结构调整和升级都可以促进城市创新;(5)城市群网络空间结构对城市创新绩效的空间溢出效应,表明城市群网络空间结构有助于强化城市群内部的功能网络外部性、产业结构转型升级及集聚外部性。这意味着,城市群内部的功能网络外部性、产业结构转型升级及集聚外部性可以在一定程度上带动城市创新,促进整个城市群的经济联系和协调发展;(6)研究表明,城市群内部城市之间的联系和相互作用是城市群创新绩效提升的重要因素。城市群网络空间结构的促进作用与城市间互动和合作密切相关。本研究不仅对城市群网络空间结构与城市创新绩效的关系进行了深入探讨,而且对于研究方法、指标体系和实证结果等方面都进行了充分的讨论和阐述,为城市群区域的城市创新发展提供了新的研究视角。 |
英文摘要 | This article is based on panel data from 211 prefecture-level cities in 19 city clusters, examining the relationship and mechanism between the spatial structure of city clusters' networks and urban innovation performance. The study found that: (1) The spatial structure of city cluster networks has a significant promoting effect on urban innovation performance, which was further confirmed by robustness tests such as instrumental variables and system GMM. This suggests that network connectivity and coordinated development within city clusters are key factors in promoting urban innovation. (2) The impact of the spatial structure of city cluster networks on urban innovation performance shows a "U"-shaped non-linear trend, with the promoting effect first decreasing and then increasing. However, only a few city clusters in the central and western regions are located to the left of the "U"-shaped turning point. This indicates that in the vast majority of city clusters in China, whether they are large, medium, or small cities, they can effectively integrate into the network system and promote the improvement of urban innovation performance. (3) Heterogeneity analysis shows that cities with stronger competitiveness and higher maturity in city clusters are more likely to benefit from the growth dividend of the spatial structure of city cluster networks. However, for relatively backward cities and city clusters, their externalities of functional networks are weaker. This suggests that in promoting economic connectivity and coordinated development within city clusters, more attention needs to be paid to the development of backward cities and city clusters. (4) The agglomeration externality, functional network externality, and industrial structure transformation and upgrading are the main mechanisms and paths for the spatial structure of city cluster networks to empower urban innovation performance. This means that the interaction and synergy among various economic elements within city clusters, as well as industrial restructuring and upgrading, can promote urban innovation. (5) The spatial spillover effect of the spatial structure of city cluster networks on urban innovation performance indicates that the spatial structure of city cluster networks helps to strengthen the functional network externality, industrial structure transformation and upgrading, and agglomeration externality within city clusters. This means that the functional network externality, industrial structure transformation and upgrading, and agglomeration externality within city clusters can drive urban innovation to some extent, and promote the economic connectivity and coordinated development of the entire city cluster. (6) The study shows that the connection and interaction between cities within city clusters are important factors in improving urban innovation performance in city clusters. The promoting effect of the spatial structure of city cluster networks is closely related to the interaction and cooperation among cities. Therefore, in promoting the innovation development of city clusters, attention should be paid to strengthening the connection and cooperation between cities, forming an organic spatial structure of city clusters, and achieving the goal of common prosperity and development. This study not only explores the relationship between the spatial structure of city cluster networks and urban innovation performance in depth but also provides a new research perspective for the innovation development of city clusters in terms of research methods, indicator systems, and empirical results. |
