Abstract	区域环境协同治理是应对环境外部性和集体行动困境的现实需要和适宜方式。在总结梳理国内外区域环境协同治理研究的基础上发现：中外在研究方向上虽有趋同性，但研究主题的侧重点、切入视角却各有不同。目前，该领域研究主题相对比较广泛，“治理”概念在研究演化中有泛化的现象，既有研究虽有积极进展，但“区域环境协同治理”涉及的基本问题和深层问题还有待继续深化和系统探究。未来研究需要辨析区域环境协同治理的内涵、特点和局限，阐明协同治理失灵的现实挑战和理论缘由，在构建理论框架和互动机制的基础上，揭示中国环境治理演进的基本逻辑，并识别和刻画协同治理的模式，实证检验协同治理的效果，进而提出我国环境治理体系的优化路径。
