摘要

从1895年法国摄影师卢米埃尔兄弟放映《工厂大门》至今,电影已经走过一百余年的历程,电影技术不断发展,对电影的研究也越来越广泛和深入。电影属于视听艺术,画面和声音都应是其重要符号。但目前来看,声音这一符号元素在电影中还处于弱势地位,这与声音的功能和价值未被充分重视和运用有关。

相对于我国声音设计发展程度,好莱坞在上世纪70年代就有了“声音设计师(Sound Designer)”的职位。后来,在长期实践中,发展出了相对完整的声音设计工艺流程,使电影声音的各个环节上的人才得到最大程度的发挥,从而创作出更完整、丰富、极具叙事艺术和美学品位的影视作品。其中,加拿大导演丹尼斯·维伦纽瓦的影片在视听风格上独树一帜,享誉影坛。

维伦纽瓦最为人称道的便是他作品中蕴含着的哲学思考以及极具风格的视听特征。维伦纽瓦极其重视声音设计工作,他的声音团队在主流电影奖项中也屡获佳绩。维伦纽瓦的声音设计理念是:不刻意惊艳观众,而是让他们身临其境。他和他的声音团队善用音乐叙事,音乐常常作为一种解说符号被运用在情节叙述中;音响方面则极具临场感,将声音和空间联系起来,以凸显具体场景里角色的心理活动。

本文将尝试从电影符号学入手,以丹尼斯·维伦纽瓦作品《沙丘》为主要研究对象,从声音设计角度对其进行分析,总结维伦纽瓦电影声音设计系统理论体系,为我国电影声音设计领域的探索和发展提供一定参考。

英文摘要

The film has gone through more than 100 years since the French photographers Lumiere Brothers screened "The Gate of the Factory" in 1895. With the continuous development of film technology, the research on film has become more and more extensive and in-depth. Film is an audiovisual art, and both picture and sound should be its important symbols. But at present, the symbolic element of sound is still in a weak position in the film, which is related to the under-emphasis and application of the function and value of sound.

Compared with the development of sound design in my country, Hollywood had the position of "Sound Designer" in the 1970s. Later, in the long-term practice, a relatively complete sound design process was developed, so that the talents in all aspects of the film sound can be brought into full play, so as to create a film and television that is more complete, rich, and full of narrative art and aesthetic taste. work. Among them, the films of Canadian director Dennis Villeneuve are unique in audio-visual style and are well-known in the film industry.

Villeneuve is best known for the philosophical thinking and stylistic audio-visual features contained in his works. Villeneuve places great emphasis on sound design, and his sound team has won major film awards. Villeneuve's sound design philosophy is: not to surprise the audience, but to immerse them. He and his sound team make good use of musical narration. Music is often used as an interpretive symbol in the narrative of the plot; the sound aspect always have a sense of presence, connecting sound and space to highlight the psychological activities of characters in specific scenes. .

This article will try to start with film semiotics, take Dennis Villeneuve's "Dune" as the main research object, analyze it from the perspective of sound design and summarize the theoretical system of Villeneuve's film sound design system, which is a good example for Chinese films. In particular, it provides a certain reference for the exploration and development of the sound design field of Chinese films.
